Today, the House T&I Committee unanimously passed the Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2013 (WRRDA). The bill includes language that would authorize the Natomas Levee Improvement Project.
Sacramento County Supervisor and SAFCA Chair Phil Serna noted in a prepared statement, “In representing constituents in the Natomas Basin, both as the Sacramento County Supervisor as well as the sitting chair of the flood control agency acting as the local project sponsor, it is imperative that Congress continue to act responsibly and quickly in moving the WRRDA forward.” (see full statement)
Congressman Bill Shuster, Chairman of the House T&I Committee, previously said that the bill could go to the House floor sometime in October.
The T&I Committee has a dedicated Web page with more information about the WRRDA, which can be found here.
